This proposal represented the culmination of the work developed throughout the semester and allowed me to see how the different assignments gradually contributed to building a complete research project. Compared to previous tasks, I felt more confident when writing the proposal because I had a clearer understanding of academic research, the structure of a proposal, and the relationship between research questions, objectives, methodology, and data collection instruments.
One aspect that I particularly value about this assignment is that it helped me move from thinking about a topic in general terms to considering how a study could actually be conducted in a real educational context. Designing the observation grid, questionnaire, consent forms, and procedures made me reflect on the practical implications of educational research and the importance of aligning every methodological decision with the purpose of the study.
The feedback also helped me identify areas that still require improvement. One important observation concerned the need for stronger conceptual alignment between the title, research questions, objectives, and instruments. Revisiting the proposal made me realize how important it is for every section of a research project to work together coherently. Similarly, the comments regarding the three-month timeline encouraged me to think more critically about the feasibility of research projects and the importance of designing realistic procedures that can be carried out within the available timeframe.
Another valuable lesson was the importance of supporting methodological decisions with recent literature and clearly explaining how potential researcher bias could be minimized. These aspects helped me understand that research involves not only collecting information but also constantly reflecting on the quality and trustworthiness of the process.
Although there are still areas that could be strengthened, I finished this assignment feeling much more prepared and optimistic about my future research project next term.
