W2 - Why do we want to know more about Multisensory strategies?

In this task, it was proposed that the teacher-researchers could share with the rest of the class their interests for investigation. I wrote the following on the forum:

Hello everyone! I’m working with Ayelén Drachenberg, and we chose to investigate more on ‘Multisensory and emotionally engaging strategies for vocabulary learning in Pre-A1 EFL learners.’ We consider these strategies important because they align with how children naturally learn and process new information. From a neuroeducational perspective, learning becomes stronger when multiple sensory pathways—such as visual, auditory, and kinesthetic—are involved. When learners see, hear, and physically interact with new words, more neural connections are created, which can improve both understanding and memory retention.

We have noticed that colleagues sometimes complain that students are no longer learning, are not interested, etc. That is why we consider this topic valuable: it can provide teachers with practical evidence on whether multisensory instruction actually improves vocabulary acquisition in real classroom contexts, connecting insights from neuroscience with classroom language instruction.

We received one comment from our classmate Vero that highlights the relevance of our research for this ESP setting:

Hi Agus!

Your topic called my attention. I’ve read about neuroplasticity and I believe that it’s a concept you may find useful in your work. I have the pdf file in case you need it. Wish you all the best in your research!
